Patna: In a boost to the BJP, former union minister Dasai Chaudhary joined the party with hundreds of supporters and pledged to ensure that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi becomes the next prime minister.
Chaudhary joined the BJP at the function held in the party office here in the presence of the state unit chief Mangal Pandey and the former deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, who gave him receipt of membership of the party.

Speaking on the occasion, Pandey said that the former union minister`s decision to join the BJP will boost his party`s electoral prospects in Vaishali district and strengthen
the cadre throughout Bihar.

Chaudhary, who was a union minister in the Chandrashekhar government in 1990s, said that he would work as a humble cadre and discharge duties assigned to him by the leadership.

He also sang paeans of the Gujarat Chief Minister and said that the country needed his service as the next prime minister to usher in good governance and restore faith of the people in political leadership, besides strengthen weakened economy and security.

Chaudhary had come to limelight recently for meeting Modi in Ahmedabad with the RJD supremo Lalu Prasad`s brother in-law Sadhu Yadav.

Both were expelled by the Congress charging them for indulging in anti-party activities by way of meeting the Gujarat Chief Minister.
