Sambhal (UP): An FIR has been lodged against son of a local SP leader and his aide on charges of rape and murder of a woman in Rajpura area, police said on Monday.
In-charge of Rajpura Police Station Kashmir Singh said that on Saturday last a body of a 30-year-old woman was recovered near a sugar mill and it was suspected that she died in a road accident.
However, the victim`s mother alleged that she was raped by SP district secretary Abdul Hamid`s son Tasleem and his aide Bhure.
She alleged that when the condition of the victim deteriorated, they threw her near the sugar mill and fled.
A case has been lodged against the two, Singh said.
Police said the situation would be clear only after postmortem.
Merchant said that BMC joined hands with the accused and
took no action on his complaints.
"The first letter was written on November 10, 2008, I stated that there were structural changes brought by Bafna but yet no action was taken against him", he said.
He said that Bafna removed pillars from the basement and also demolished the base wall to fit glass for his car showroom and the alterations weakened the structure.
"We had sensed the damage then and took the advice of famous structural engineer Chetan Raikar who suggested that the repairs must be effected to strengthen the pillars. But they (the accused) did not do anything", Merchant alleged.
