Allahabad: The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday
dismissed a Public Interest Litigation which sought removal of
a Zila Panchayat chairperson on grounds of alleged financial
irregularities.
A Division Bench comprising Justice Amitav Lala and
A P Sahi dismissed the PIL filed by contractor Sanjay Kumar
Mishra.
The petitioner alleged city Zila Panchayat chairperson
Keshri Devi had misappropriated money during her tenure.
It prayed she be removed from her post and an FIR be
lodged against her.
