Allahabad: Concerned over the death of a
schoolboy here two days ago after being run over by a truck,
the Allahabad High Court today asked the city police to lodge
an FIR against two constables posted at a checkpost on the
outskirts who had allegedly allowed the vehicle to pass
through even after "no entry" had come into force.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Vinod Prasad and
Justice Rajesh Chandra passed the order while hearing a Public
Interest Litigation seeking the court`s intervention to
improve the traffic situation in the city.

The court took serious note of media reports of the death
of Aditya Dubey, a class VIII student, who was crushed to
death by a speeding truck while he was on his way to school on
his bicycle.

The incident had taken place at around 6.45 AM when entry
of heavy vehicles into the city is prohibited.

The court also ordered that a departmental inquiry be
conducted against the Traffic Inspector in-charge of the area
where the mishap had taken place.
