Rampur: A 24-year-old woman, working as a housemaid here, was allegedly raped and murder by her employers when she demanded her cumulative salary of past five years, amounting to Rs 1.80 lakh, police said on Saturday.
A complaint was registered in this regard at Civil Lines police station here yesterday following a local court order, circle officer Aaley Hassan said.
The victim`s 65-year-old mother moved the court after police had refused to file a complaint earlier.
According to the complaint filed by the elderly woman, her daughter had been working at the household in the Hydel Department`s colony here for about 10 years.
"The victim had been depositing her salary with the employer for the past about five years and her savings had reached Rs 1.80 lakh," the police officer said, quoting the complaint.
The victim had on July 3 asked her employers -- Mahi, her brother Fasahat, and one Mohd. Usman -- to pay off her dues. After she pressed them to pay off her dues, the accused on July 12 allegedly added poison in her meals, leading to her death, police said.
Police have lodged the complaint against the three accused and have launched a manhunt to nab them.
