`Maya`s tour attempt to divert attention from Govt`s misdeeds`

Lucknow: Congress on Thursday took a dig at Chief Minister Mayawati`s month-long tour of Uttar Pradesh saying that it cost the state government over Rs 200 crore for her security alone.

"The Chief Minister`s tour was an attempt to divert people`s attention from misdeed of her government. Over Rs 200 crore were spent on her security alone during the tour," said Congress spokesman Akhilesh Pratap Singh.

Besides, there was undeclared curfew in places where Mayawati visited so that no one could tell her ground reality, he said, adding that those who attempted to meet her were sent to jail.

"The entire tour was scripted by some officers and the Chief Minister did only the acting bit," he said.

People have understood that BSP is only working for personal gains and it has nothing to do with common man, he added.
