A government recognised medical university here has served notice to 60 of its doctors for allegedly indulging in private practice, officials said Thursday.

Lucknow: A government recognised medical university here has served notice to 60 of its doctors for allegedly indulging in private practice, officials said Thursday.
Based on a complaint filed by a BSP legislator, Bhagelu Ram, authorities of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Medical University (CSMMU) have served notice to over 60 doctors for
being allegedly involved in private practice, which is banned as per the University Act, university sources said.

"The notices were served after it was revealed in an inquiry conducted by the university that doctors were involved in private practice", a senior official said.
They have been asked to clarify their stand within a week, the official said, adding that eight doctors of the university were already facing similar charges.
