distress on Wednesday opened in this pilgrim city.

Additional Director General Arvind Kumar Jain said the
helpline whose office has been set up in the police lines will
provide "help to victims of ragging, eve-teasing, misconduct,
mental torture among others."

"The police would reach any place in the city within
seven minutes and in rural areas the time span would be 15 to
20 minutes," Jain said after inaugurating the helpline here.

Women pilgrims will also be able to use the helpline
if they wanted, he said.

Jain added that four motorcycles and one jeep have
been allotted to the helpline office and Superintendent of
Police (City) Sunil Kumar Saxena is the in-charge.
