Six dead as ambulance crashes into truck

Six people, including a woman patient and her three relatives, were on Monday killed after an ambulance carrying them crashed into a stationary truck near Maharajpur, police said today.

Kanpur: Six people, including a woman patient and her three relatives, were on Monday killed after an ambulance carrying them crashed into a stationary truck near Maharajpur, police said today.

"The incident took place this morning when the patient was being taken in an ambulance to Hallett hospital here. She was accompanied by three of her relatives. All of them died on the spot," they said.

Two of the dead have been identified as driver of the vehicle, Mohsin and cleaner Massod while others are still to be identified, they said.
All bodies have been sent for postmortem and the police is investigating the incident, police said.
