Lucknow: The Samajwadi Party will undertake
a three-month-long yatra across Uttar Pradesh from tomorrow to
create awareness against what it says "corrupt and repressive"
policies of the Mayawati government.
During his `Kranti Rath Yatra`, UP SP president Akhilesh
Yadav would protest caste and communal politics apart from
highlighting "corrupt and repressive" policies of the state
government, SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said here today.
A large number of party leaders, workers and members of
SP`s youth wing would participate in the rath and cycle yatra,
he said.
Chaudhary said in September 1987, SP chief Mulayam Singh
Yadav took out a similar yatra to protest poor governance of
the then government.
The move by the SP comes days after senior BJP leader L K
Advani announced to take out an anti-corruption yatra across
the country.
