Threat to life after `exposing scam`: IPS officer

An IPS officer posted as DIG (Fire services) on Friday claimed he was being "harassed" for exposing scam and is facing life threat.

Lucknow: Alleging corruption and
discrepancies in purchases in the Fire department, an IPS
officer posted as DIG (Fire services) on Friday claimed he was
being "harassed" for exposing scam and is facing life threat.

"I have written in the control room register of the Fire
department about large scale corruption in purchase in the
department. I am facing threat to my life for exposing
corruption," DIG, Fire services, DD Mishra, a 1978 batch IPS
officer told reporters here.

He, however, said he had not given any complaint to the
seniors on the matter.

"I have been harassed unnecessarily," Mishra claimed.
When asked, ADG, Law and Order, Subesh Kumar Singh said
he was not aware of any such comments by the officer.

"I have not got report in this matter so I cannot say
anything with confidence," he said.
