Muzaffarnagar: In a suspected case of dishonour killing, two brothers have been arrested for allegedly murdering their 22-year-old sister in Nirdhan village, police said on Friday.
"Shaher Bano (22) of Nirdhan village was found dead with her throat slit on January 6 in the nearby forest. Her family members had earlier tried to implicate some innocent people in the case," Rajkamal Yadav, SP, City said.
The brothers -- Muntazim and Sherali -- have been arrested and police claim that the duo has confessed to their involvement in the crime.
Upon investigations the police found that Bano`s family was opposed to her relationship with a youth of the same village.
"They killed her as she was allegedly tarnishing the family`s image," Yadav said.
