UP: Man arrested for supplying arms to terror group

The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Thursday arrested one person for allegedly supplying arms to a terror group.

Acting on a tip-off by the Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat
Police, the ATS arrested one Izhar Khan, a resident of Model
House Locality here, this afternoon, said Additional Director
General (Law and order) Brij Lal.
Khan supplied arms to a terror group named Darshgah
Jehad-e-shahadat formed by one Viqar Ahmed, he said, adding
that the group was involved in the murder of some policemen on
the anniversary of Mecca mosque blast in Hyderabad.

Izhar was wanted in seven cases by Andhra Pradesh and
Gujarat Police and had been supplying arms including pistols,
revolvers and cartridges to the gang since 2003, Lal said.

He has been taken to Ahmedabad on five-day transit
remand and further investigations are on, the ADG said.
