Lucknow: Claiming that a pro-Congress wave is
prevalent in Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister Sriprakash Jaiswal
on Thursday said Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi`s dream of
forming the party government in the state will be fulfilled in
the UP Assembly elections, due next year.
"The people of UP are in favour of Congress and Rahul`s
dream (of forming the party government) in 2012 UP polls will
be fulfilled," Jaiswal told reporters here.
"People wanted to see the party in power in the state to
ensure development, which had taken a backstage in the regime
of non-Congress governments in the past two decades. The
public is realising its mistake and showing their faith on
Congress," he said.
Meanwhile, UP Congress chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi said 40
local leaders from various parties across the state have
joined Congress.
"Those who have joined included village heads, district
panchayat members and block heads among others," she said.
