UP riots: 2,877 riot victims living in illegal camps asked to leave

Four private relief camps functioning without authorisation in Shamli district near Muzaffarnagar have been asked to close their operations and around 2,877 riot-victims living in these camps have been asked to leave.

Muzaffarnagar: Four private relief camps functioning without authorisation in Shamli district near Muzaffarnagar have been asked to close their operations and around 2,877 riot-victims living in these camps have been asked to leave.
Around 2,877 people living in four camps including 270 in Tirsa, 1,950 in Malakpur, 390 in Barnawi and 267 in Kandhla have been asked to leave the camps, District Magistrate of Shamli P K Singh said.
Meanwhile the people in the relief camp are facing problems in relocating because of cold weather. After riots, 41 relief camps were set up in Muzaffarnagar and 17 in Shamli district.

Communal clashes took place in September in Muzaffarnagar and its adjoining areas in which 62 people were killed and over 40,000 people displaced.
