Muzaffarnagar: Uttar Pradesh State Road
Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has banned conductors and
drivers on duty from using mobile phones to prevent them from
alerting their colleagues about surprise checks, officials
said on Tuesday.
The direction came after UPSRTC received complaints that
some staff members on duty had warned their colleagues of
surprise inspections which were undertaken to check whether
conductors were issuing tickets or not, they said.

The managing director of UPSRTC has already directed all
regional managers in the state to execute the ban to
facilitate the surprise checking, they added.
Regional manager Anil Kumar told reporters here that this
step had been taken to check the staff, who were involved in
charging passengers for tickets but did not issue the same.
