Gopeshwar: Fresh snowfall in the higher reaches including Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines in Garhwal Himalayas and rain in lower areas on Friday affected normal life in the hill districts of Uttarakhand.
Classes up to the fifth standard remained suspended for the second consecutive day due to cold conditions in Chamoli district where it has been raining and snowing for the past three days causing a drop in temperature, sources at the disaster management office here said.
There has been fresh snowfall in both Kedarnath and Badrinath, they said.
Kedarnath Dear Park and Nandadevi National Park are also partially covered by snow, they said.
However, the administration is prepared to deal with any emergency, they claimed.
