Pakur: The police Saturday seized one quintal ammonium nitrate and arrested a person in
this connection in Pakur town.
Following a tip-off, a team led by Pakur town police
station incharge Awdhesh Thakur laid a trap and arrested Anwar
Sheikh and seized the explosives from his alleged possession,
police said.
Anwar was allegedly ferrying the consignment from
Rajgram village in neighbouring West Bengal to Malpahari in
Pakur district to handover the explosives to a stone crusher
owner for illegal mining, the police said.
Pakur is known for its crusher units.
