Midnapore (WB): Encounter was on between
joint forces and the Maoists at Belpahari while an armed
clash took place between the extremists and the villagers at
Salboni in Maoist-affected West Midnapore district on Saturday.
Police said the encounter is on in the jungle at
Belpahari village but there are no reports of any casualty on
either side so far.
Meanwhile, a body was seen lying at Bursa village after
an armed clash between villagers and Naxals.
The district authorities confirming clashes between
Maoists and locals at Bursa and Kashijora villages said it had
no knowledge about the death of any person in it.
Local CPI-M sources, however, claimed that the body
belonged to a Maoist.
Three persons are missing from Bursa village and are
believed to be Maoists.
