Jalpaiguri: Six persons were killed
and four others injured when a speeding truck hit a car at
Ranirhat in Jalpaiguri district, the police said on Sunday.
Sources said four persons died on the spot and two
others died after being taken to hospital following the
accident midnight yesterday.
The passengers of the car were residents of Moinaguri
and Dhupguri and were returning after attending a ceremony
near Ranirhat, the police said.
The stone chip-laden truck hit the car from opposite
direction and the car was mangled by the impact of the
accident, sources said.
The injured people were taken to Jalpaiguri Hospital.
