Canberra: Rescuers will likely soon stop searching for 90 Afghan asylum seekers missing after a boat capsized near Christmas Island, off north-western Australia.
According to Australian Maritime Safety Authority spokesman Mal Larson, the air and search will continue until last light Saturday before a decision is made.
Larson said: "In all likelihood it will be suspended, but a decision hasn`t been made yet."
No survivor has been found since the day of the tragedy (Thursday) when 108 men and a 13-year-old boy were rescued from the Indian Ocean. Only five bodies have been recovered. The Indonesian fishing boat was carrying around 200 males seeking asylum in Australia. There were no females aboard.
Four ships and six planes joined the search on Saturday.
