Beijing: The world`s longest high-speed rail route covering over 2,200 km from Beijing to the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou will open on December 26, the authorities said on Friday.
The new route will cut travel time between Beijing and Guangzhou from 22 hours to around eight, Xinhua reported, citing the ministry of railways.
