Malaysia becomes full member of MH17 joint probe team

Malaysia has been accepted as the full member of the MH17 Joint Investigation Team, Malaysia's Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail said Monday.

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysia has been accepted as the full member of the MH17 Joint Investigation Team, Malaysia's Attorney-General Abdul Gani Patail said Monday.

Abdul Gani said this notification was given by the Dutch National Public Prosecutor's Office in its letter dated Nov 28, Xinhua reported.

The Joint Investigation Team initially comprised of the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium and Ukraine. Malaysia has called on the team to include its investigators in the probe instead of being just participants from time to time.

The Malaysian attorney-general will be leaving for the Hague Wednesday to attend the Third Eurojust Coordination Meeting on the criminal investigation, which is scheduled Dec 4.

Malaysia's Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar will also attend the meeting.
