Malaysian PM asks Hindus to keep trust in govt

The Malaysian PM said that this trust would help the community overcome challenges and achieve personal visions for a better life.

Kuala Lumpur: Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak has urged the Hindu community in the country to continue placing their trust in the government.

Razak, in a message posted on his blogsite, said that this trust would be able to effectively engage with and help the community overcome challenges and achieve personal visions for a better life.

“We remain committed to fulfilling all our promises to the community and we`ll do what`s needed to help people achieve their dreams,” The Star quoted him, as saying.

Razak took the opportunity to extend his greetings for the Hindu festival Thaipusam to the community.

“We can, once again, appreciate our diverse culture as Malaysian Hindus mark this auspicious day,” he added.

Razak noted that Hindus marked Thaipusam by offering their gratitude and sacrifice throughout the country.

“Many would also be making vows and praying for a better life and secure a happy future for their children. It’s a basic human wish to improve and progress towards a better quality of life for oneself and loved ones,” he added.
