Ukraine to halve armed forces by 2017

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are to be downsized almost 50 percent by 2017.

Moscow: The Ukrainian Armed Forces are to be downsized almost 50 percent by 2017, RIA Novosti reported.
General Staff chief Igor Nikolaenko said military personnel will be reduced from the current 193,000 to 100,000, the Ukrainskiye Novosti news agency said.
There will be no more personnel cuts after 2017.
