US court rehearing 9/11 conspirator`s case

The only person to stand trial in a US court for the Sept 11 terrorist attacks is getting another chance to plead his case to a federal appeals court in Virginia.

Richmond: The only person to stand trial in
a US court for the Sept 11 terrorist attacks is getting
another chance to plead his case to a federal appeals court in
Virginia.

A three-judge panel of the 4th US Circuit Court of
Appeals rehears arguments in Zacharias Moussaoui`s case today.
The court heard Moussaoui`s appeal in January but ordered
new arguments after one panel member, Judge Karen Williams,
retired for health reasons before the case could be decided.
Moussaoui is serving a life sentence after pleading
guilty to helping plan the attacks that killed nearly 3,000
people. His lawyers claim the guilty plea was invalid because
the government withheld evidence that could have helped his
defence.
