Goa constable interrogated in police-drug mafia nexus case

Sanjay Parab, a constable arrested for his links with drug peddlers, was interrogated by Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) in another case, a senior officer said.

Panaji: Sanjay Parab, a constable
arrested for his links with drug peddlers, was interrogated
by Anti Narcotic Cell (ANC) in another case, a senior officer
said.

Parab was interrogated by deputy superintendent of
police Naresh Mhamal on Tuesday for hours in relation to
arrest of Israeli drug dealer David Driham alias Dudu.

Sources stated that while Crime Branch is
investigating links of policemen with another Israeli drug
peddler Yaniv Benaim alias Atala, ANC is holding similar
parallel inquiry in case of Dudu.

Seven policemen were arrested for their links with
drug dealer after an Atala confessed on spy cam about his
association with police officers.

Police stated that of the seven policemen arrested,
six had connections with both the drug peddlers.

Only one of them, a constable, had links only with
Atala and on earlier occasion caught while visiting his house.
Parab, a constable earlier attached to Crime Branch,
was on the run for 56 days till he surrendered before Police
last week.

The constable told police during interrogation that he
took shelter at various bus stands and railway stations in
nearby Konkan belt in Maharashtra during his missing period.
