Updated official data on dengue leaves out cases in capital

New Delhi: The updated official data on dengue cases in the country posted on the website of the central nodal agency for vector borne diseases here leaves out two positive dengue cases reported in the capital recently.

According to MCD official Dr N K Yadav, two dengue cases were diagnosed in the city in March this year.

However, the update on dengue situation in India done in April on the official website of the Directorate of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, the central nodal agency for the prevention and control of dengue in the country, this figure is nowhere to be seen.

According to the NVBDCP data, the total number of dengue cases till April across the country is 1,635. The highest number of positive dengue figure cases have been reported from Tamil Nadu with 674 cases, followed by 561 cases in Kerala, 150 in Puducherry, 66 in Karnataka and 64 in Gujarat among others.

Even one dengue case each in Andaman and Nicobar Island and Chandigarh have been mentioned on the website but not the ones diagnosed in the capital.
