Mediterranean diet cuts obesity, heart attack risk: Study

New Delhi: A new study suggests that people who take mediterranean diet are less likely to be overweight or suffer obesity.

The medierranean diet has long been hailed as a heart-healthy eating plan. The diet includes fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts, fish, olive oil and at least one glass of wine along with meals on a daily basis.

As per an article published in the Postgraduate Medical Journal (PMJ) by a group of doctors, people eating Mediterranean diet tend to have lower levels of heart disease and sustained weight loss.

Researchers have long stressed on the fact that it is better to opt for mediterranean diet rathar than crash dieting as it has balanced nutritional benefits.
