Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief
Minister Omar Abdullah has convened a meeting of the selection panel Wednesday to appoint State Information Commission (SIC)
chief and its members.
"The Chief Minister has invited deputy Chief Minister
Tara Chand and opposition leader and PDP President Mehbooba
Mufti to a meeting on October 27 (tomorrow) to select the SIC chief and its members," an official spokesman said here today.
The Committee will select the SIC chief and its
members under the Right to Information (RTI) Act.
The PDP president had not attended earlier meetings to
appoint heads of State Information Commission and State
Accountability Commission due to various reasons.
