Jammu: With panchayat polls nearing in Jammu
and Kashmir, state DGP Kuldeep Khoda on Wednesday stressed on a
congenial atmosphere for the people to vote fearlessly and
asked senior officers to apprise him of day-to-day situation.

"The police should ensure a congenial atmosphere so that
the people can exercise their franchise without any fear in
the panchayat elections on April 25," Khoda said here during a
video conference with DIGs and DSPs at police headquarters.

The DGP said all assistance with regard to manpower,
mobilisation and communication will be provided to cover
far-flung areas during the elections.

He asked the officers to convene occasional meetings
with the subordinate officers to identify the hyper sensitive
areas and take necessary steps when and wherever required.
