Grenade hurled at police post in J&K, defused

Militants Wednesday hurled a grenade at a police post in Baramulla district of north Kashmir but the device did not explode and was later defused, officials said.

Srinagar: Militants Wednesday hurled a grenade at a police post in Baramulla district of north Kashmir but the device did not explode and was later defused, officials said.
The militants tossed the grenade towards the police post at Palhalan-Pattan, 30 kms from here, at around 9.15 AM but it failed to explode, they said.

The device was later defused by the bomb disposal squad.
The police had prior information about militants` plan to carry out subversive activities in the area and had alerted its jawans, they said.
