Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister
Omar Abdullah met the state Governor to discuss issues related to decentralisation of democratic setup in the state ahead of municpal polls.
Omar called on Governor N N Vohra at Raj Bhawan here last evening, an official spokesman said.
During the 30-minute meeting, the Governor and the Chief
Minister discussed certain important issues relating to
establishment of a decentralised democratic set up covering
rural and urban areas of the state.
Panchayat elections, aimed at devolution of power in
rural areas were held in the state earlier this year, while
municipal elections for urban areas are expected to be held
later this year.
