A police check post has been approved for Jagti township on the outskirts of Jammu city, following the recent murder of a Kashmiri Pandit in the area.

Jammu: A police check post has been approved for Jagti township on the outskirts of Jammu city, following the recent murder of a Kashmiri Pandit in the area.

To strengthen security in the area, a police check will be set up at Jagti township in Nagrota belt, SSP Jammu, Atul Goel, said.

On Sunday night, a Kashmiri Pandit was murdered by three youths in the area.

Accused Summit Singh, Naresh Sharma and Garav alias Shanky were arrested in Ludhiana area of Punjab last night, the SSP said.

The three on Sunday barged into the house of one Ankur Talashi and tried to abduct him.

His father Tej Krishen Talashi was stabbed and attacked by an iron rod when he tried to rescue him.

The assailants fled when people rushed to the spot after the father-son duo raised an alarm, according to police.

Tej, later, died in a hospital triggering major protests in Jagti township.
