President visits forward posts in J&K, to meet Rukhsana

President Pratibha Patil on Friday visited the forward post in Rajouri-Poonch border districts to boost the morale of the troops guarding the front lines.

boost the morale of the troops guarding the front lines.

She was received at the airport here by the Governor
N N Vohra and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Both the Governor and Chief Minister accompanied Patil
in a helicopter for Rajouri and Poonch districts, officials
said.

The President, who is the supreme commander of the
armed forces, later went from Rajouri to a forward post and
interacted with the soldiers.

Patil would be returning to Rajouri town where she
will have "bara khana" with soldiers.

She is also schedule to meet the young Gujjar girl
Rukhsana and her brother Aijaz Ahmed, who killed a Pakistani
militant at Kalsian village in Upper Shahdra Sharief area of
Rajouri district on the night of September 27, they said.
