Ranchi: Prominent academics and have
said that Anna Hazare`s movement for a corruption-free society
will pave the way for fulfilment of former President APJ Abdul Kalam’s 2020 vision for a developed India.

Now it appears that former president Kalam’s vision
document will take a positive shape...corruption has hindered
pace of the progress all these years, Director (Research) of
Birsa Agriculture University Prof B N Singh said.

Kalam had in 1998 authored India 2020. A vision for
the New Millennium in which he outlined how India could be
among the world’s first five economic powers in the year 2020.

Sharing Singh’s opinion, Prof Madhukar Shukla of the
XLRI, Jamshedpur, said there was no contradiction between
Kalam’s vision document and Anna Hazare’s movement against
corruption.

At least people are now discussing it and the purpose
(of anti-corruption) is development. Everyone should get equal
share of fruits of development, Shukla said.

Geologist Nitish Priyadarshi said, Kalam’s scientific
mind must have seen such turbulent times ahead. So he
suggested for a focused mind on development issues.

Meanwhile, processions and sit-ins by different
organizations continued across Jharkhand for the sixth day
today demanding that the Centre immediately accept Hazare’s
demand for an effective Jan Lokpal.
