Palakkad: An RSS worker was hacked to
death inside a crowded bus at nearby Kanjikkode o Wednesday by some goons, which also attacked and injured three of his friends travelling in it, police said.
The victim was identified as Ratheesh (24), a local RSS
functionary, police said.
Political rivalry is suspected to be the motive behind
the attack as the area has a history of frequent clashes
between RSS and CPI-M workers, they said.
The goons stormed into the bus, when it stopped at a
shelter at Kanjikkode, and attacked Ratheesh and three others
with sharp weapons. They immediately fled after the attack.
The injured were rushed to the district hospital.
Police said a search was on for the suspects.
BJP and RSS called for a protest today in the district
against the incident.
