Chandigarh SDM submits report on Ruchika`s `expulsion`

Niwas told reporters that the report would be submitted
to Chandigarh Administrator S F Rodrigues, who is also the
Punjab Governor.

Asked about the contents he refused to divulge anything.

"We will later make public the outcome of the inquiry. We will
also make public the methodology adopted in finalising the
report relating to the Sacred Heart School," he added.

The probe ordered by the Education Secretary Ram Niwas
was initiated to ascertain the causes which led to the
alleged expulsion of then 14-year-old Ruchika Girhotra from
the school.

Madhu Parkash, mother of Aradhana, a friend of Ruchika,
who has been pursuing the case of the deceased, had filed a
complaint with the Chandigarh Administration against the
school, alleging harassment to the girl as a daughter of
Rathore was also a student of the same class.

Rathore, a 1965 batch IPS officer of Haryana, who retired
in 2002, was awarded a six months jail term by a CBI court
here for molesting Ruchika, a budding tennis player in 1990
when he was an IGP. Ruchika committed suicide three years
later.
