partner" in Nepal`s development effort, Foreign Minister

dynamism" in bilateral cooperation, as she reaffirmed her
country`s commitment to `One China` policy.

On a five-day visit to China to prepare ground for
Premier Madhav Kumar Nepal`s upcoming visit, she reiterated
that Nepal recognises Tibet as an integral part of China and
is firm in its principled stand of not allowing "Nepalese
territory to be used against China."

Addressing a Chinese thinktank in Beijing today Koirala
said: "Nepal has consistently upheld the `One China` policy,"
according to Foreign Ministry sources here.

The Foreign Minister said China was a "valued partner in
our development effort" and Nepal feels there was a need "to
inject new dynamism in the scope and the modality of
cooperation by expanding economic and commercial relations".

Koirala also briefed Chinese thinktanks about Nepal`s
People`s Movement of 2006 and spoke about the need for
successfully concluding the on-going peace process with
consensus, dialogue and unity among all the political parties,
Foreign Ministry sources said.

Foreign Minister Koirala, who is in China to seek a soft
loan of USD 1 billion for carrying out various development
and infrastructure projects in Nepal, also stressed on need to
bring about economic transformation in Nepal.

She said Nepal and China were bound together by the high
Himalayan eco-system and cultural similarities.

Before her departure for Beijing yesterday, Koirala had
told reporters that Nepal will seek USD 1 billion soft loan
from China for carrying out various development and
infrastructure projects in Nepal.

One of the aims of Foreign Minister`s visit is to prepare
ground for Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal`s forthcoming
