Watch: NASA's SDO captures swirling magnetic loops on the sun!

Washington: NASA has released a stunning video that shows 'arches of bundled magnetic loops' on the surface of the sun.
The video was taken by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) during 16 hours over November 11 and 12.

Charged particles spin along the magnetic field, tracing out bright lines as they emit light in extreme ultraviolet wavelengths, says NASA.
About halfway through the video, a small eruption from the active region near the center causes the coils to rise up and become brighter as the region re-organizes its magnetic field.
Magnetic fields are invisible, at least usually. But in this video, to make the swirls visible to the human eye, scientists at NASA colored them in gold.
