Govt to set up over 40,000 booths to administer polio drops

The Tamil Nadu government will set up over 40,000 booths to administer polio drops as part of the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) on January 23 and February 27, Health and Family Welfare Minister said Thursday.

up over 40,000 booths to administer polio drops as part of the Intensive Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) on January 23 and February 27, Health and Family Welfare Minister M R K Panneerselvam said Thursday.
All children under the age of five years will be administered polio drops on these days irrespective of their
previous immunization status, he said in an official release.
A little over 40,000 booths and transit booths will be set
up at various places, including government hospitals, Primary
Health Centres, railway stations, bus stands, airports and
places of worship, he said, adding a total of 70 lakh children
are expected to be benefited.

Special efforts were on to cover migrant children, he said.
