Kanpur: The Congress is banking on the
"magic" of its leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to help
the party regain power in Uttar Pradesh after a gap of over
two decades.

"The countdown for the fall of BSP government has
begun... Rahul Gandhi`s frequent visits to the state and Sonia
Gandhi`s support to the party in the state have boosted the
morale of our workers," Sriprakash Jaiswal, chairman of the
UP Election Campaign Committee said.
"During the next year Assembly elections Rahul ji and
Sonia ji will travel the whole state and their magic will work
on public. We will secure enough seats this time and form
government in Uttar Pradesh after more than 20 years," the
Union Coal Minister said.

Ruling out any alliance with the BSP or the Samajwadi
Party, he said Congress can contemplate joining hands with
smaller parties after the Assembly polls.

He said people are fed up of both BSP and SP, while BJP
has lost its support base and that makes the Congress first
choice for the public in the 2012 Assembly polls.
Jaiswal said he will visits every Assembly constituency
in the state and will help in raising morale of the party
workers there.
