Bhadohi (UP): A 40-day-old infant died and
another fell seriously ill allegedly after they were
administered DPT vaccine by state health department staff in
Sitamadhi area here, officials said on Thursday.
The infant and another 50-day-old were administered the
vaccine by health-care officials as part of the government's
door-to-door vaccination programme in Baripur village here
yesterday, they said.
The condition of the two started deteriorating after the
administration of the vaccine and they were rushed to the
hospital, where one them died, the officials said.
Deputy Chief Medical Officer Jai Naresh said a team of
doctors have been rushed to the village and the state
government has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
