Muzaffarnagar: The SIT probing the Muzaffarnagar riots has sought warrant from a local court to bring riot accused Subodh Kumar here, who is lodged in Meerut jail in connection with another case.
Subodh was arrested in an encounter with Baghpat police while he was on his way to allegedly murder someone on March 7, following which he was lodged in Meerut jail, Special Investigation Team (SIT) sources said.
The accused has been absconding since the riots took place last year, they said.
The court had initiated attachment proceedings against Subodh in connection with Bahawdi village killing case during the riots.
Three people including two women were killed by rioters at Bahawdi village under Phugana police station in the district in September last year. The SIT found Subodh`s involvement in the case.
