Kolkata: A fire broke out in the closed auditorium in Kolkata Police Bodyguard Lines compound here late on Saturday night.
Fire brigade sources said six fire tenders fought the flames which were contained at around 11.55 PM.
The flames were first noticed at around 11.10 PM and firemen had to break open the door locks of the hall, located in the Alipore Bodyguard Lines area, to spray water from the first floor.
There was no report of any injury in the blaze which broke out sometime after an event took place in the auditorium and the maintenance staff had locked the doors.
