Beijing: China supports contacts of North Korea with South Korea and the United States on the problem of denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula, spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry Jiang Yu said here.
"As regards the improvement of inter-Korean ties, we have always positively assessed and supported this process," Jiang Yu said.
"We believe that the deepening of interaction and strengthening of cooperation between the sides will serve first of all interests of residents of the Korean Peninsula, as well as promote the maintenance of peace and stability in the region of North-Eastern Asia."
"We also support contacts and the dialogue between Pyongyang and Washington," the ministry`s spokesman noted, "and hope that they will exert joint efforts to resume the six-party talks and denuclearize the Korean Peninsula as soon as possible."
