Jakarta: An undersea 6.3-magnitude earthquake
rattled eastern Indonesia on Tuesday, but there was no tsunami
warning and no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake struck at a depth of 42 kilometres, the US
Geological Survey (USGS) said, shortly after 8:00 pm (1200
GMT).
The epicentre was 132 kilometres from Ternate, in the
Moluccas, and 161 kilometres from Manado on Sulawesi island.
USGS originally put the quake at magnitude 6.5 and at a
depth of 87 kilometres.
