Strong quake shakes eastern Indonesia

An undersea 6.3-magnitude earthquake rattled eastern Indonesia on Tuesday, but there was no tsunami warning and no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

warning and no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The quake struck at a depth of 42 kilometres, the US
Geological Survey (USGS) said, shortly after 8:00 pm (1200
GMT).

The epicentre was 132 kilometres from Ternate, in the
Moluccas, and 161 kilometres from Manado on Sulawesi island.
USGS originally put the quake at magnitude 6.5 and at a
depth of 87 kilometres.
