District of Columbia: The White House said Monday it was not surprised by reports that a ceasefire in Syria had been breached, but indicated it was too early to call the plan a failure.
"We are aware that there have been some reports of violations," White House press secretary Josh Earnest said.
"That is consistent with our expectations heading in to this process," he added.
"We did anticipate that there would be reports of violations and that we would encounter some potholes on the road to implementing this successfully."
Saying an international contact group would seek to verify dozens of reported breeches, the White House said, "we remain committed to this process."
The White House has backed the imperfect and limited truce between rebels and the government.
It is seen as a way to get much needed humanitarian aid into the country, to get allies to focus on the fight against the Islamic State group and to nudge parties toward a political solution to the bloody, five-year-old conflict.
